Oleanna
Oleanna by David Mamet
A theatre production by New Stagers
3rd -6th July
When it opened off Broadway in 1992, “Oleanna” provoked fights in the Orpheum theatre foyer. This play is about sexual politics and power, how it can shift, and what happens to those who wield it against each other. It’s also about free speech, and whether suppressing it can ever be justified.
David Mamet’s dialogue is razor-sharp, his characters are painfully fallible and human, and the subject-matter is guaranteed to provoke arguments!
Wandsworth Museum is delighted to host Oleanna, New Stager’s debut production.
